Team Stuburt player David Howell shot a final round of 65 to win the BMW International Open at Golfclub Munchen Nord-Eichenried on Monday, securing the second European Tour title of his career and qualification for the HSBC World Match Play Championship at Wentworth in mid-September.
Howellâ??s latest triumph sees him reach a career high position of 22nd in the Official World Golf Ranking, and at 6th is currently the highest placed Englishman on the European Tour Order of Merit. Having squeezed eight birdies into ten final round holes, Howell once again wore Stuburtâ??s lead shoe, the Profile - an ever present during his impressive recent performances. Whilst withstanding the pressures of a nail biting single shot victory, Howell benefited from the shoeâ??s unrivalled athletic performance and heel-to-toe comfort.
An ecstatic Howell, who finished on a remarkable 23 under par, 265, remains confident about the remaining tournaments of the season and indeed his career beyond, â??the next 10 years of my life are hopefully going to be the best 10 years and now Iâ??m looking forward to bigger and better thingsâ??, commented the Wiltshire Pro.
Stuburtâ??s tour presence continues to grow with both young and established stars recognising the shoe manufacturers unrivalled athletic performance and celebrated heel-to-toe comfort. In addition to Howell and European Seniors and Champions Tour Star, Mark James, Stuburt have just signed 22-year-old Gary Lockerbie, one of the most exciting young golfers to have emerged from the English amateur ranks in recent years.
